“Let mutual love continue. Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it.”
Action Steps to Choose Welcome in North Carolina
In the past few years, we have seen a rise in restrictive policies and heated rhetoric around immigration. From family separation, to overturning DACA, to refugee resettlement dropping to historic lows, our immigrant and refugee brothers and sisters are under attack.
Across the country, faith based organizations committed to welcoming these brothers and sisters have had to close. Additionally, heated rhetoric in our communities and from our political leaders has contributed to a hostile environment for the very people we have been told by scripture to welcome.
This is why we believe it is time to Choose Welcome.
Choose Welcome is a campaign of Christian witness advocating for a culture, policies, and political leadership that “welcome the stranger.” Choose Welcome, in partnership with We Welcome Refugees, will work to lift up the voices of Christians in North Carolina on behalf of those God has called us to stand side by side with in the midst of injustice.
Such a time as this calls for Christians to find their voices and speak up for biblical values.
We know that Christians across the country hold true to these biblical values. But far too often they can feel alone or unprepared to speak up. Choose Welcome is a campaign designed to empower Christians to advocate on the behalf of immigrants and refugees with their family, friends, and church members. Through personal conversations, Bible studies, and testimony we believe Christian women can change the conversation and call our nation back to biblical values.
